GMAIL: How to email forward as an Admin

To change where a user’s emails are forwarded, a Google Workspace admin can create an email routing rule by going to the Google Admin console > Menu > Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Routing and using the recipient address map to specify the original sender and the new forwarding address. This is a secure method for central management and allows for more granular control over email flow than individual user forwarding settings.

Steps for Admin-Managed Forwarding

  1. Sign in: to your Google Admin console with an administrator account www.google.com

·  ·  Navigate to Menu > Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Routing.

·  ·  Select the top-level organizational unit on the left.

·  ·  Scroll down to the Email forwarding using recipient address map setting.

·  ·  Click Configure or Add Another Rule.

·  ·  Give your new rule a descriptive name.

·  ·  In Step 1, click Add.

·  ·  In the Address field, enter the original recipient’s email address that you want to redirect.

·  ·  In the Map to address field, enter the new email address where you want the messages to be forwarded.

·  ·  Choose the Messages to affect option. For example, you can select “All incoming messages” to apply the rule to all messages received by the domain.

·  ·  Click Save at the bottom of the setting box.
